1. My screen flickers when I close or open a program.

The settings of the video graphic card are probably not correct. We usually suggest that customers run Auto-Tune from the OSD menu on the front panel of the LCD monitor. If problem persists and your OS is Microsoft Windows, we suggest you follow the next steps after connecting a secondary display to your computer:

  1. At your desktop, please right-click your mouse button, while the cursor is on the desktop background
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Select the [Settings] tab and adjust the [Screen Resolution] setting by moving the indicator bar to the right or left based on your monitor type. If you have:
    - 12.1" LCD, we recommend setting it at 800x600.
    - 14.1" or 15" LCD, we recommend setting it at 1024x768.
    - 17" or 19” LCD, we recommend setting it at 1280x1024.
  4. Then, select the [Advanced] button located in the lower right corner.
  5. Click on [Monitor] tab.
  6. Look for the Refresh Rate drop-down list and select a Refresh Rate of 72 Hz (or below).
  7. Select [Apply] and then click [OK] to save the configuration.
  8. Shut down the computer.
  9. Connect your GVision LCD monitor to the computer while it is turned completely off.
  10. Turn on the computer and LCD monitor at the same time.

Note: For the best result, please set 60, 70, or 72 Hz refresh rate at 1024x768 pixels and set 60 Hz refresh rate at 1280x1024 pixels.

2. The keys on the monitor do not function.

Your keys might be in “lock” mode. In order to unlock them, we suggest you press the down arrow button on the front panel of the LCD and then unplug the power cord for 3 or 4 seconds. While pressing it down, you can plug the power cord back in and release the button afterwards.

Note: Hold the arrow button down at all times until you plug the power cord back in and the power indicator LED is green.

3. How do I reset the monitor to the manufacturer’s default setting?

The easiest way to do this is holding the + and - buttons down on the front panel of the monitor and then turn off the monitor for 3 or 4 seconds. Then turn the monitor on and release the buttons.

Note: Hold the + and - buttons down the entire time until you turn the monitor back on.

4. My screen has shifted to the right.

All you have to do is reset the display to the default setting. See FAQ #7. If the problem persists, please contact the technical support team in order to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization number.

5. Where do I locate the drivers to run the LCD monitor?

Most of our LCDs are plug and play. It means that Operation Systems (OS) will automatically detect the monitor and operate the LCD properly. OS may look for a driver but it should automatically select the OS default Plug and Play driver. OS includes Microsoft Windows Series, Mac, Linux, Unix, and Solaris.

6. I get an "Out of Range" error message on the screen?

The error message means that either the resolution or the refresh rate does not fit into the specification of your monitor. The setting on the computer needs to be adjusted. In order to do this, it is better to connect a secondary monitor to your computer so that you can change the appropriate settings easily.

Let’s assume that the OS of the computer is Microsoft Windows and you have the administrator privileges to access the computer. After connecting the secondary monitor, here are the steps we suggest you to follow:

  1. At your desktop, please right-click your mouse button, while the cursor is on the desktop background.

Note: For the best results, please set 60, 70, or 72 Hz refresh rate at 1024x768 pixels and set a 60 Hz refresh rate at 1280x1024 pixels.

7. Why is the LCD darker on the sides?

The viewing angle varies from LCD to LCD. Each LCD has its own maximum viewing angle.

8. There are horizontal lines moving down the screen. Is there a fix?

Use the Phase adjustment or AutoTune (Track if it’s an option) in the OSD. This should clear up the picture.

9. What does it mean when I get green or red colors on my screen?

This is usually caused by one of the following:

1) The VGA cable connection.
The VGA cable from the LCD, which connects to the computer, is not connected properly. We recommend customers re-attach both ends of the VGA cable to the connectors on the monitor and on the computer. Please make sure that both ends are screwed tightly into the VGA ports of the computer and the monitor.

2) The on-screen color setting.
Adjust the color setting by using the on-screen display (OSD) menu within the LCD monitor. This process is already outlined for you in the User's Manual of the LCD monitor. We encourage you to read it thoroughly since each monitor is slightly different. In general, you will bring up the OSD menu by pressing the appropriate button on the front panel of the LCD screen. Identify the color adjustment menu (under [Contrast]). You can then increase or decrease the color levels based on your preferences.

10. The colors are bleeding on the monitor. Is there anything I can do?

Run the Recall or Reset under the OSD menu depending on the LCD model, followed by the AutoTune.

11. After connecting the LCD to my computer the fonts and images look fuzzy.

We usually suggest that customers run Auto-Tune from the OSD menu on the front panel of the LCD monitor. If problem persists, your resolution may be too low. If your OS is Microsoft Windows and you have the administrator access, we suggest you follow the next steps:

  1. At your desktop, please right-click your mouse button, while the cursor is on the desktop background.
  8. Restart the computer.

Note: For the best results, please set 60, 70, or 72 Hz refresh rate at 1024x768 pixels and set 60 Hz refresh rate at 1280x1024 pixels.

12. Where can I download the touch screen driver?

For all Elo touch screens, please visit www.elotouch.com
For all micro touch screens, please visit www.3mtouch.com

13. What type of touch screen do I have?

All our displays should have a Configuration # located at the rear of the unit. The format of the number will look like this:
____-__-_____-____-___-(RES) or (W/O)
RES = Elo
W/O = is originally a non touch unit (please contact the place of purchase for touch type)

14. Are fingerprints and dirt a problem on touch screens?

Dirt and fingerprints do not affect the operation of a properly sealed any touch display. It is suggested that customers use bright and patterned desktop background colors to minimize the visual effects of dirt and fingerprints.

15. How do I calibrate my touch screen?

After the driver is loaded, you will see a little icon on your task bar. Please click on the icon and this will bring up the settings menu for the touch calibration.

16. What can be used to clean LCD displays including touch screens?

Any standard glass cleaner can be used to clean the display and touch screen. It is important to always spray the glass cleaner on a cloth or towel before cleaning the touch screen surface. Glass cleaner sprayed directly on the monitor could possibly leak inside a non-sealed unit and cause damage.

17. Will vinegar or ammonia damage the touch screen?

Vinegar and ammonia will not damage your touch screen. Be cautious with liquids and do not let them seep inside non-sealed units. Again, spray the cleaner before wiping the touch screen unit.
