10.4'' LCD Display Resistive Touch Screen Sunlight Readable
  FRIDAY FEBRUARY 24, 2012

Durham, New Hampshire - Police officers in New Hampshire are embracing the benefits of a new communication integration project incorporating digital radios, GPS units, computers, radars, lights, sirens, and GVISION's 10.4" touch screens. Through a collaborative venture and with support of the U.S. Department of Justice the project's ultimate goal is the integration of multiple agencies' communication systems. Previously law enforcement, emergency and other state and federal agencies were not able to talk to each other directly.

The J1PS sunlight readable touch screen was chosen as part of this project for its size and distinct benefits as the interface for the interactive communications systems on police cruisers. The J1PS compact size fits perfectly between the driver and front passenger seats. The sunlight readable screen provides performance integrity during a variety of lighting conditions, even direct sunlight, for legible text and vibrant images. A resistive touch screen helps improve the user interface, allowing the police officers to control in-cruiser
devices and create data queries easily. This project has initially used over 400 LCD touch screen monitors.

Much publicity has surrounded this project as the New Hampshire Police Department pushed for development of an interactive and comprehensive communication system after a department tragedy in 1997. Future improvements will include a handheld device for use outside the patrol car that will allow a wounded officer to generate an emergency message. GVISION is proud to be part of this project, which improves public safety and helps protect those who promote peace and safety in the community.
